About Spera Health
“Spera” is derived from the Latin word “spero” meaning “hope”.
Perhaps you have felt helpless and unheard by traditional medical approaches or hopeless and pressured to accept that the pelvic health concerns you have for yourself or your child are a “normal” part of motherhood, aging, or your child’s development.
What if there is hope?
Spera Health Physiotherapy provides individual and insightful consultation for those seeking a realistic solution to restore their pelvic health.
You deserve quality pelvic health care.
At Spera Health Physiotherapy, one-on-one care is the standard. Building relationships and trust are important to help support you on your journey. I want you to feel heard and understood. That’s why each session is 30-60 minutes without interruption - no modalities, no shared time with other patients, just one-on-one with your therapist.
The assessment will be comprehensive, taking into consideration all aspects of your health and looking beyond the pelvis to get to the root cause of your symptoms. I will listen to your goals and develop a realistic treatment plan that is individualized - designed to keep you and your life in mind.
About Tara
Tara Posteraro, MScPT, BSc, FCAMPT, CIDN
I am a pelvic health and orthopedic physiotherapist and the founder and owner of Spera Health Physiotherapy. My interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy began after my own struggles with chronic pelvic pain, then after going through pregnancy and birth myself my passion for women’s health grew. I knew I was in a unique position as a pelvic health PT to be able to help bridge the gap in perinatal care. In an effort to provide better maternal support, I attained physio-doula training which combines physiotherapy expertise with birth doula support and became a Certified Postnatal Fitness Specialist.
I hold a Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy and have pursued professional development in several areas including manual therapy, soft tissue release, acupuncture, pelvic health, prenatal and postpartum care, and pediatric pelvic health. I hold a certification in Integrated Dry Needling and a Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy making me a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). I will always take an evidence-based approach to care and continue to stay current in my practice to maintain the highest standard of care for my patients.
